Delhi Liquor Policy Case: Rouse Avenue Court extends ED custody of BRS leader Kavita till March 26


K Kavitha ED Remand: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing the alleged Delhi liquor scam, on Saturday (March 23) arrested Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS) national president and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR)’s daughter K. Kavita was presented in Rouse Avenue Court. Where his ED custody was extended till March 26.

When Kavita’s lawyer filed a bail petition, the ED had demanded that K. Kavita’s custody should be extended by 5 days but the court extended the remand by 3 days. ED told us. Kavita has to be confronted regarding the statements given, we have already told what her role was. He conspired to give a bribe of ₹100 crore. ED also told the court that searches are being conducted at the house of Kavita’s close relative in Hyderabad.

Earlier, before entering the court, BRS leader Kavita told the journalists, “My arrest is illegal, I will fight in the court.” Earlier on Friday (22 March), the Supreme Court had ordered K. Giving a shock to Kavita, bail was refused.

When did ED do this? Kavita arrested

ED had arrested Kavita in Hyderabad on March 15. The same day he was brought to Delhi and sent to ED custody. Kavita’s ED custody was ending on Saturday (23 March). ED has alleged that Kavita was part of the ‘South Group’ which had allegedly given bribe of Rs 100 crore to AAP leaders. Reportedly, the partners of ‘South Group’ were given 65 percent stake in Indospirit.
